Blade condition drives aerodynamic efficiency and energy output. Across the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, EVenergy’s wind turbine blade inspection gives owners findings reports with damage categories, so blade repairs can be planned by priority rather than by guesswork. We also clean blades and towers from platforms and support leading edge and repair work.

Damage categories and repair priority

Each blade finding is classified by damage category and recorded with the blade, its location and photographs. The report ends with repair priorities and recommended actions, so the owner can decide which blades to repair first and which to monitor.

Leading edge erosion assessment

The inspection covers the blade surface and the leading edge, where erosion reduces aerodynamic efficiency over time. Erosion findings are graded in the same damage categories as other defects, and we provide leading edge and repair support for the blades that need it.

Blade and tower cleaning from platforms

Blades and towers are cleaned from electrical and hydraulic platforms, with the platform chosen for the turbine height. Wet cleaning uses detergents that are safe for the environment and the equipment. Access for each turbine and platform is planned before work starts.

Planning wind turbine blade inspections to limit generation loss

We schedule blade inspections around turbine availability and, where possible, bundle them with other checks from wind turbine maintenance and O&M support or gearbox endoscopy, inspections and NDT. Combined with those services, a blade inspection can form part of an end-of-warranty inspection in a single mobilization.

How the work is delivered

  1. Define the work

Agree the equipment, site access, applicable procedures, acceptance criteria and reporting format before mobilization.

  2. Execute safely

Use site risk assessments, permits, isolation controls and task-specific competence for the work being performed.

  3. Close the loop

Record findings with photographs and recommendations, then track corrective actions through handover.

Typical outputs

  • Findings report with damage categories, location and photographs
  • Repair priorities and recommended actions

Frequently asked questions

What does a blade inspection report include?

Each finding records the blade, its location on the blade, the damage category and photographs, including surface and leading edge erosion. The report then sets repair priorities and recommended actions for each blade, so the owner can plan repairs by severity and schedule them into the next maintenance window.

What is leading edge erosion and how is it assessed?

Leading edge erosion is wear of the front edge of the blade, which reduces aerodynamic efficiency and energy output. We assess it as part of every blade inspection, grade it in the same damage categories as other findings, and recommend repair priorities. EVenergy also provides leading edge and repair support.

How are blade inspections planned to limit generation loss?

Inspections are scheduled around turbine availability and, where possible, bundled with other inspection tasks, so turbine stoppage and generation loss are kept to a minimum. The inspection method and access are agreed in the scope for each site before mobilization, together with the reporting format the owner needs.

How is blade and tower cleaning carried out?

From electrical or hydraulic platforms chosen for the turbine height, using environmentally safe detergents for wet cleaning. We plan access for each turbine and platform before work starts. Equipment and platform capacities are confirmed in the project offer, together with the number of turbines and the cleaning schedule.
